Everything a fair, fast technical screen needs.

Test creation

Build a test in 60 seconds.

Pick languages, difficulty, and length. Our 1000+ MCQ library + AI-graded guesstimates back the test. Or pin a custom question set if you have your own.

  • Mix multiple languages and difficulties in one test
  • AI-graded open-ended questions for senior screening
  • Time limits from 5 minutes to 2 hours
  • Randomised question order per candidate
Anti-cheat

Anti-cheat that doesn’t feel hostile.

Tab-switch detection, paste-blocking, randomised order, hard time limits. Auto-submit on violation count. No webcam-mandate by default — you can opt in if your role demands it.

  • Tab-switch counter with auto-submit threshold
  • Paste-blocked answer fields for free-text questions
  • Hard server-side time enforcement (no client-side bypass)
  • Randomised question + option order per candidate
Results

Per-candidate score in seconds.

Auto-graded MCQs and AI-graded guesstimates land on the leaderboard the moment a candidate submits. Configurable: candidates see detailed results, score-only, or nothing.

  • Live leaderboard with score and time-to-complete
  • Per-question correctness breakdown for the recruiter
  • Configurable result visibility for candidates
  • Email invites tracked back to the attempt
Candidate experience

Candidates show up prepared.

We're the only assessment platform built on a free practice product. Candidates likely already know our flow before you send them a test — fewer drop-offs, higher signal.

  • Familiar UX: same flow as our free practice product
  • Configurable post-submit feedback or radio silence
  • Mobile-friendly: real candidates, real conditions
  • Optional practice plan offered after submit
What we actually believe

The best tool for technical screens isn't the one with the biggest test library. It's the one your candidates already trust.

We are the only assessment platform built on top of a free practice product. Every other player charges candidates to rehearse on the same format you screen them with. We don't. Practice is free, forever — and that's why a meaningful slice of any technical applicant pool will recognise our flow the moment your invite hits their inbox.

What this is

  • An AI-graded technical screen that grades reasoning, not just answers.
  • A platform candidates have already practiced on, so first-screen drop-off plummets.
  • Free during beta — locked in for life if you sign up now.

What this isn't

  • A 300-test library where you pay per skill checkbox.
  • A leetcode mill that punishes candidates for not memorising graph traversal.
  • Yet another spy-on-your-candidates webcam-mandate platform.

What you get in 5 minutes

  • A live test link to share. Candidates click and start.
  • AI-graded results streaming in as they submit.
  • A leaderboard you can rank by score or by time-to-finish.
The honest brand

We don't invent testimonials. We don't fake customer logos. We don't inflate user counts. When we say something about this platform, it's either factually verifiable, a public claim with a source link, or our own founder's first-person opinion. That's rare in this category and we're going to keep it that way.

Why this works

The skills we test are the skills the bar grades on.

Real, attributed industry sources on why structured estimation is graded — exactly what our AI grader scores against. Click through to verify.

Back-of-the-envelope calculations are estimates you create using a combination of thought experiments and common performance numbers to get a good feel for which designs will meet your requirements.

Recruiter FAQs

How is this different from TestGorilla?

Two ways. (1) AI-graded open-ended questions — we use Claude Haiku to score guesstimate / system-design / capacity-planning answers against a hand-written rubric, with calibrated 0-100 feedback. TestGorilla is mostly multiple choice. (2) Our candidates already know us. We run a free practice product (1000+ MCQs, guesstimate questions) so a meaningful share of your applicants will recognise the platform. That means lower drop-off, more honest engagement.

Is it really free?

Yes — full feature set, no candidate cap, while we're in beta. We will introduce paid tiers later (small monthly fee for unlimited tests + extras like PDF export, ATS integrations, and white-labelling). Beta users will be grandfathered into a free founder plan.

Can I add my own custom questions?

MCQ-style: yes. Open-ended AI-graded questions: yes — write the rubric, optionally a model answer, and the AI grader uses it. We're rolling out a self-serve admin UI for question authoring; meanwhile, send us the questions and we'll add them.

How do anti-cheat features work?

We log tab switches, mark them in the candidate's report, and auto-submit at 3 violations. We block paste into free-text fields. Time limits are enforced server-side so a clock-fudge in the browser doesn't help. Question and option order is randomised per candidate. Webcam proctoring is opt-in only — most roles don't need it and many candidates won't accept it.

What about coding interviews?

We don't have a coding sandbox yet — that's a real gap vs. CodeSignal/HackerRank. Our test format covers MCQ + open-ended reasoning + guesstimates, which is enough for most knowledge-screen rounds. Coding sandbox is on the roadmap.
