What the Meta loop actually looks like.
Meta's loop is fast and code-heavy for engineers: two coding rounds, system design, and a behavioral. PMs face product-sense, execution (including estimation and root-cause analysis), and behavioral rounds. The bar is calibrated tightly, and strong-no's are common.
Coding (45 min × 2)
Two medium-hards in one slot is typical. Optimal solutions matter; getting one done isn't enough.
System design
Practical, product-grounded. "Design Instagram" / "Design Messenger" energy. Capacity sizing expected.
Execution (PM)
Root-cause analysis on a metric drop, decision-making under uncertainty, sometimes a guesstimate component.
Behavioral
Move fast / impact-focused stories. Show ownership and trade-off thinking explicitly.
